New Basement Rooms

The aim here was to create more much needed space in the basement. The house already benefited from a partial basement, but over half the area was unused.
After investigation from the floor above the dead spaces they were found to be half filled with building waste from the original construction.

To job entailed knocking through from the existing basement and adding a window. The window at the front also made the removal of a few tons of earth easier much easier.

The aim was to build another living space in one room and a utility room in another.
The living space floor was insulated prior to concrete floors being laid.
Then with the use of pallets, large seating areas were built and raised areas in the utility were created.

With a coat of white paint the utility was finished very simply awaiting shelving etc and the installation of a macerator ready for a washing machine.

The living space had a fully finished approach with insulated and plastered walls making it a cosy and comfortable space for a playroom come cinema room.
